1991 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my D4 light is blinking an I know it stands for a trany problem but whin it blinks as I turn my car over its not allowing my car to start an the check engine light stays on the mechanic said the coil was bad I put a new one an now he is saying that my ECU is good but the coil is not recieving the right pulse can you PLEASE HELP me every thing is workin except the ecu to the coil could it be electrical because this car has been this way for a long time an it has allways blinked D4 an whin so I could not start car THANK YOU.

Hi Germaine25,

A bad coil will not show on the check light. The ICM would.

A blinking D4 could be due to a faulty main relay which is connected to both the TCM and ECU.
