Gentlemen,
I purchased a 1990 Accord DX w/automatic transmission for my son. The vehicle has 70,000 miles with a problem that seems to be related. After driving the vehicle for a short period of time and parking, I cannot get the ingition key out of the ignition or get the transmission back into drive. If I wait a few minutes, both problems go away. I recently changed the changed the master relay that is located under the dash because of difficulty starting when the vehicle is warm. Any thoughts?

For anyone else experiencing this problem, I found a fix. Removed plastic cover covering shift linkage. Need to use shift unlock to move trans. Into first to remove cover. Lubricated shift lock solenoid on right hand side of shifter. Solenoid was not releasing when trans. Was put into park. Everything works great now. Will replace solenoid ($150) if it acts up again.
