Hold light and gear problem

Hold light blinks and the gear shift from the first gear to the third with out passing the second gear and never shifts to fourth gear.

Hi,

First, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I have little technical information. However, I will try my best to help.

As far as the hold light, are you referring to the brake light indicator? If so, have you checked the brake fluid level? Also, are any other indicator lights turning on?

The transmission is something different. The idea that it doesn't use 2nd and 4th lead me to believe it could be a clutch issue or a line pressure issue. Do the gears seem to slip, or does it feel like the vehicle is in neutral?

If you haven't already, start by scanning the computer to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes related to the transmission. Here is a quick video showing how it's done.
