It has a hesitation and jerking when accelerating and slowing. It shut off while pulling into the street from a parking lot. Another time, I started it, it idled like it was misfiring, shut off and the EPC light, check engine light and a warning, "Warning max RPM 4000" all came on at the same time. Please help before it causes an accident.
Thank you

Hi,

It sounds like the vehicle is in limp mode. Because it is so new, what needs to be done is this. The CAN bus needs to be scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the computers/modules are all tied together via a few wires. By performing this type of scan, diagnostic trouble codes will be found regardless of the module storing them.

Since it was running poorly and based on what was and has happened, it could be related to the engine or transmission. That is why I'm suggesting this type of scan.

Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

If we don't try to scan for codes, it will become a guessing game. Try to have that done and let me know the results (what codes were found). Also, please keep in mind the manufacturer's warranty. The powertrain is covered, so it may be a good idea to have a dealer inspect it. See attached pic.

Let me know what you find or if there is anything I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe
