I had to put a alternate harmonic balancer on my car after mine flew off while I was driving. Seemed to work just fine but due to the fact that I had no A/C because it only had 2 pulleys on it. I decided to out the original on it later on. The other one had a little wobble to it. So after I put the right one on and I started it it sounded like something was grinding really loud. Is it possible that the old one may have bent my crank shaft and the one being tighter since it was the right one messed it up?

It is unlikely that the crank is bent. It has what is called a main bearing cap just behind the pulley so it has support and does not get bent very easily.

Just to be clear about what happened. The first pulley came off while driving and the next one wobbled and this one makes a grinding noise?

If that is the case, it is possible that the threads in the end of the crankshaft are damaged preventing the pulley from going on correctly.

Can you get a recording of the noise so that we can get on the same page with what it is doing?
