Hello, the vehicle handbrake warning light is on when the handbrake is not used. What could be the cause and how can it checked?

Hi,

I have to be honest, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, but I will try my best to help. If the indicator light is staying on, chances are the switch itself is sticking. Can you tell me if the park brake actuator is on the floor or between the seats?

I believe in the US, this vehicle is called a Sentra. I attached a pic below showing the park brake switch location on a Sentra (I had to go newer because to find one). The switch is under the trim. If you remove the trim, you will see a switch that is actuated by the hand brake, so check that. See if it is stuck, damaged, or if there is any damage to the wiring.

Let me know.
Joe
