My GMC service manager said my Yukon has a front pinion seal leak and a transmission tail shaft seal leak. What are the indications of a leak or what might some indications that I have a problem that needs servicing since I never see any evidence of leaks on the ground or in my garage? Can these problems be easily resolved by a non-mechanic like myself or better left to the experts?

Both seal if bad will sling fluid on the underside and you may not see a leak, but if you climb under it you may see what the shop was talking about, if youve never done a u joint or pinion seal you may want to leave it up to the shop, you will need a large socket for the pinion seal and air tools, hope this helps
