Secondary air injection

I have a 2000 gmc sonoma 4x4 4.3 v6. The check engine light came on. I read the codes saying - secondary air injection malf and cyl #2 misfire detected. I replaced the plugs and wires, and the light went away for about 500 mi and then came back with the same problem. What is secondary air? Are these 2 problems related? The truck is getting very poor gas mileage.

P0410 secondary air injection malf

what is secondary air- it is from the air pump to help oxidizes the exhaust gases so that the catalytic converter operates efficiently.

P0302 No.2 misfire could come from a weak coil/lean mixture/dirty injectors/vacuum leaks/burn exhaust valve/bad gas/low fuel pressure/Open EGR
