DO I HAVE TO CHANGE THE CATALIC CONVERTER WITH A GMC CONVERTER
I WAS TOLD THE OXYGEN SENSOR WOULD NOT READ RIGHT?

How did it go bad? There was a recall on coil wire routing on 4.3 engines that caused a misfire condition, this if left unrepaired caused converter failure. seems the fix is to reroute the coil wire so it's runs over the top of the plug wires to the coil. It was too close to metal brackets and tranny filler pipe.

I would think if you get the right cat for the truck, aftermarket or OEM should work.

I had a prob with the cat and it was in sane for a new one I went to a muffler shop and they took it off cut the cats out and welded to new ones after market and it ran fine it was a service truck and seen alot off miles cost was 400.00 bucks in total
