1993 GMC Sierra I see rust around the engine block

I have a brand new 6.5TD engine installed. I had some antifreeze leak from the crossovers, and I' am not sure if its connected after this incident I saw rust build up around the engine block. Its like a mildew, around the casting. Is this bad, and what can I do.

Hi there,

This will be the leaking anti freeze drying and forming a crust like substance, I would have the engine washed down and then pressure test the cooling system for leaks, repair any leaks any you should not see this forming again, it is not dangerous to the metal but it is an indication of a coolant leak.
