I have a 1989 GMC Sierra with a 350 HEI. The engine was rebuilt and is leaking oil from the distributor. I know that I need to replace the gasket, but am thinking about replacing the distributor...it is used. When looking for one, they use the acronym SBC 350. Does this mean short block? Also, would the oil continue to leak after the engine has been turned off? It seems to be getting worse and I don't want to spend money on the distributor if there is another, more important issue at hand.

Thank you!

Change the gasket-For the SBC 350 its Small Block Chevy-350

A short block is an engine less the cylinder heads. Long block is the entire engine.
