Temperature gauge

1988 gmc s15 2.8 liter v6
My temp gauge pegged out to the top and that is where it stays even when truck isn't running or hasn't been driven ! I changed the temp sending switch. But gauge still doesn't work I looked the best I could for any loose wires and looked at the connecter to temp switch but I don't see anything !
got any suggestions?

It sounds like your gauge is the problem. Try replacing it.
