I have a 1987 Oldmobile Cutlass that has 64K on it and it has recently started spitting and sputtering on gradual accel. I've rebuilt the carb checked the EGR, and that is ok. I'm at a loss for what the problem could be. I'm wondering if it could be the pickup inside the distrubutor. Please help.

Thanx

The carb is a feed back carb and is very difficult to rebuild. If you don't set it up with some special tools you will get exactly what you have spitting and sputtering. Let a carb mechanic set up the carb. It will probably correct the problem. If it is too far gone then order a rebuilt. They are NOT for a novice to overhaul because of the special tools required.

Good luck
