Low idle

Hello and Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening. :)

I have a 2000 Saturn, SL1 and I've got a problem:)
As of this morning, my idle is so low that it almost dies. It does this not only on start up but when I come to a complete stop. Is this a battery issue, alternator or something different. (She has 123,900 miles on her).

I do know that I need a new battery but I didn't think my battery was responsible for the idle once the car was running. (I had a 100,000 check up done and do have a new serptine belt on her)

Your help and advice DESPERATELY sought after.

On a saturn the battery runs everything. The alternator is just there to recharge the battery. Replace it if it is failing. Might solve all the other problems. Make sure you fully charge it before installation.

Good luck and let us know. :)

I will give that a shot and let y'all know the success of it; I still need a new battery.
