I changed the fuel pump recentlly and things started to happen. The fuse, 15a, for the slot"ecomb" burns out. There is a short or other problem. When we pull this fuse out the fuel pump will not work. The problem is the circut the pump is on. I find no wires bare or cut. Can there be a problem with the new pump or with the fuel level system? My Astro Van is 1992, 4.3, cargo van :)

The fuel pump relay comes on for 3-9 seconds to prmne the fuel system. When the vehicle starts the fuel pump circuit goes though the oil pressure switch and down to the fuel pump. It is a 16 gauge light gray wire. It could be any of those items included a shorted pump. Hopefully you didn't cross the wires on the pump as that would blow fuses. Good Luck
