1966 Other GMC Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual UK miles

I WANT TO MAYBE INSTALL A 1966 CHEVY 300 STRAIGHT SIX MOTOR IN MY 1950 MODEL GMC PICKUP. HOW DIFFICULT WOULD IT BE TO MAKE THE CONVERSION FROM 6V. TO 12 V. IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE 2 6V. BATTERIES TO ACHIEVE THE 12V. END RESULT SO THAT I CAN KEEP ORIGINAL PARTS LIKE THE 6V FLOORBOARD STARTER?

there used to be thingsavailablelike at j.c.whitney todo this type of thing.however i don't think these are available any longer. you would have to change your lights, andradio for 12v the switches mightlast .Also a generator and regulator. you may go to a starter rebuilder in your areaand tell him you want to convert to 12v with your starter and it may work.
