P1860 TCC Solenoid

I have a 99 GMC Jimmy with 99,000 miles, V6, 4.3, 4X4.

This truck has given me no problems, but 2 days ago the engine light came on, so I hooked it up to a scanner. I'm getting code P1860, TCC PWM Solenoid CKT Eletrical

If this is really a fried solenoid wouldn't I have some shifting symptoms? The truck is not sluggish, shifts fine, runs good, no strange noises or smells.

Is it reasonable to think this might just be a bad wire, and if so is that something a reasonably competent person could replace on their own?

TCC just engages at highway speeds. The 2 cars I have had had a bucking at highway speeds. I believe that sensor would be easy to change just by dropping the pan because the valve body is right there. Little trickier on fwd cars. Hope that might help.
