1998 GMC Jimmy check engine light on

I ran through alot of water on the road yesterday and the ck engine light flashed a few times went off then came back on and stayed on. Now the truck will run great sometimes and then it will run like it has no power what can be the problem

Could be several problems. One of your emission sensors probably was damaged by tge water. Im guessing speed sensor. All you have to do is take it to your local autozone or parts place for a free computer scan. They'll tell you what the problem is and get back to me
