My moonroof just started to not work. I can hear clicking when I push the button, but the roof will not open. I am looking for direction before bringing it in for repair.

They have a cable that opens and closes it. Th clicking is probably the cable slipping on the gear. If memmory serves me right the headliner will have to be dropped inorder to fix this.

Thank you for your reply. I believe my notation of the clicking was misleading. The clicking I hear is only when I first push the sunroof button and sounds more like the motor clicking, but nothing happens. There is no running ticking noise, but is a single occurance each time I push the button. Please let me know if you have any other ideas or if you still think that it is a belt issue.

When the unit quits working that's usually the cause, the cable either breaks or gets jammed. I think you have to replace the thing like the whole unit. You can probably type in your truck moonroof and find the parts online. But make sure that you know what's broken. Also check the relay to see if it's getting power as well. You only need a test light, it could be the switch bu tif you have a test light or VOM you can find out fairly fast.
