Engine Mechanical problem
2002 GMC C3500 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Someone borrowed my truck and filled up with diesel (it was about 1/4 full w/ reg unleaded) They drove about 100 kms (65 mi) before it started missing, mostly on acceleration, then over heated. The oil level is way up on the dipstick, and is very thin. I'm assuming a head gasket so far but what else might I be in for? How long before the crank bearings start to fail, what about the cam, and what will the diesel do to the fuel delivery system? Thanks.

You are asking a "how long is a piece of string" question, without showing the piece of string. It may have completely ruined the motor and if so it may require a long block replacement, however, without tearing down the motor and doing the diagnostic grunt work, all we will have is conjecture. So having said that, what do you want as an end result? (A rhetorical question)
