I have a 2003 gmc sierra My automatic transmission is not shifting grears when it's on drive but if I shift from first to second it will do it and then second to third it won't do anything it acts like its on neutral. Does anybody know whats wrong with it I changed the transmission fluid it did not help

Which transmission does your truck have?My first guess would be a 4l60e. And a common problem with these is for the sprag clutch to wear out. This sometimes will allow the vehicle to be shifted through the first 2 gears manually, but disables automatic shifting. Or it could possibly be a valve body problem, either way, it needs the love and care of a transmission repair facility. And depending on the mileage of the truck, they will most likely tell you that the transmission needs a full rebuild, instead of just repairing the problem. Which makes sense, as you only want to disassemble it once.
