1989 GMC C1500 fuel system

My truck acts like it is running out of gas when it has gas in it, I can start it right up, but it won't idle very long then it dies. If I pump the gas while it trys to die I can keep it running for a little bit. Please help Thanks

Does it quit spraying fuel out of the TBI when it dies? CHeck fuel pressure, sounds like a plugged filter or bad pump
