Heater problem
1997 Geo Metro Front Wheel Drive Manual 63000 km
On the coldest day of the winter I tried to start my car, but it wouldn`t turn over. I got a boost from my brother. It is running now. I`m going to have the battery replaced. It is the original battery. The problem I am having is with the heater fan. It won`t work. I haven`t replaced the battery yet. When the car is idling I turn on the heater switch and the engine will rev for about 5 seconds, and then idle back down. No air is blowing out of the vents. Before the battery problem it ran normally. When I replace the battery will that correct the heater problem? I had noticed before the battery problem that the car wasn`t putting out quite as much heat as usual. What should I do to get this problem fixed?

Lets get the battery replace and for the blower motor direct power to it from the battery-battery positive to pink wire at motor and negative to black wire at motor. If it doesn't come On -the motor is defective. If okay backtrack it to the blower motor resistor and then to the blower speed selector switch.

Thanks for the advice about the heater fan. When I replaced the battery, the heater and fan worked fine.

The reason behind the blower motor not coming On is that it draws a lot of current and the battery just don't have the electrical pressure to operate the blower motor.
