My car drives fine after being started for the first time each day and I am able to drive at a consistent speed down a highway for a few hours, but as soon as I come to a stop after driving for a consistent speed for a while and begin to accelerate, the car takes a while to shift gears and doesn’t shift until the rpm's reach a higher than normal range. Once the gears do shift, they shift with a heavy jerk.

The code that the reader presents is 00453 which states that the transmission is overheating.

Hello,

The code "00453" in a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta corresponds to a fault in the brake booster pressure sensor circuit. This sensor is responsible for monitoring the pressure in the brake booster and providing feedback to the engine control module to adjust the engine performance accordingly.

The brake booster is an important component of the brake system that amplifies the force applied to the brake pedal, providing more effective braking. If the brake booster pressure sensor is not functioning properly, it can affect the performance of the brake system and potentially cause safety issues.

To diagnose and fix this issue, you should start by inspecting the wiring and connections to the brake booster pressure sensor. Check for any loose or damaged connections, and repair or replace as necessary.

If the wiring and connections are in good condition, then you may need to replace the brake booster pressure sensor itself.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again,

Okay, my VAG/VAS DTC list starts at 16394 and ends with 19667. Could there be a DTC number somewhere in between that corresponds with the DTC number you have given me?

Thanks,
Alex

This is most likely a transmission valve body. The 09G is notorious for this issue. Mine has the same problem and after extensive research I figured out this is the problem. At first, I thought it was the transmission control module but all videos and posts I saw related to the valve body described my issue to a Tee!
