Sir,

I have a issue with transmission. When I start my car in morning it works fine but after driving nearly 35 to 40 minutes car stop shifting the gear and stuck in a gear in which it is. I tried to put neutral then again in D but still in same gear in which car stuck. I tried to stop and off it for five minutes then car stuck in first gear not changing to others. Also manual option not working. With all this problems there is no noise and no smell from the gear box. But when car cools down it again start working normally for 35 to 40 minutes. Kindly can you tell me is there a problem inside the gear box or it is a sensor issue?

Hi Umar,

This sounds like it is fluid related. When is the last time you had the fluid changed? According to the post the vehicle only has 11,000 miles however, it is over eight years old. If this is accurate then the fluid needs to be changed even if it hasn't hit the specified mileage.

Sorry I hit the reply button by accident.

The reason I believe it is fluid is because it does not act up while the fluid is cold. The fact that letting it cool down makes it operate again indicates a fluid issue.

There is a chance that this has now effected the clutches in the transmission and if it has, it will require to be rebuilt or replaced. However, I would start with the fluid because that is an easier fix and much cheaper. Basically, it is worth trying before going any further.

Thanks
