I removed and cleaned throttle body. I notice a pool of gasoline when I removed throttle body. Is that normal? If not what would cause gasoline to pool up there?

Good morning.

No, it is not normal. That is an air intake system not a duel intake system.

It could come from a leaking injector or fuel coming into the plenum from the EVAP system from a bad purge valve.

Do you have any codes?

Yes, the codes are P2101 and P2110. I did not think that was normal.

I removed throttle body to clean it because it was dirty when I inspected it. That is when I noticed a pool of what I believed to be gas behind it. I removed throttle body because I had a red lightning bolt indicator on dash board.

Okay, did you have any other codes?

The most common failure for this is the throttle body itself.

Yes, that is what I have read. I am hoping cleaning it fixes the problem if not I will replace. I am now trying to figure out why there is gas pooling up behind the throttle body.

Okay, as I stated the purge valve may be pulling fuel from the tank. That is the only thing that makes sense.

Yes, remove the hose that goes back to the fuel tank. Remove the electrical connector for the purge solenoid. Start the engine and see if you feel vacuum on the line you removed. There should be no vacuum coming out of the purge valve.
