2002 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Automatic 123000 miles

This morning I came outside to a dead battery as it turns out my neighbor said he drove by earlier and saw my third brake light was on. It started right up after a jumpstart but when my husband got to work he notice the third brake light was on even after the interior lights went out. He pumped the brakes and it went off. What could be causing this problem?

Third brake light will not turn off what you need to do here is adjust the brake switch you'll find this switch when you follow the brake pedal arm to the brake support bracket you find it right here.
