Hello All,

I have a 2000 Ford Windstar that all of a sudden stopped running. Recently the battery went bad and the engine light was on for some time. Now after replacing the battery it has quit running. Ufortunatly there are no engine codes to be found. There is good spark and 36 psi for fuel pressure. I have replaced the spark plugs, air filter, and tested the injector in the front everything looks good. I have checked all the fuses and none were bad. Any suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. This is my wifes van and she is not happy that it does not run and we can't afford to just take it to a dealership to be fixed.

Thanks!

If you have good spark and good fuel pressure you need to test for compression !

ENGINE COMPRESSION
Check engine compression with engine at normal operating temperature, all spark plugs removed (on dual plugs, remove exhaust side only), and throttle wide open. Ensure crankcase is full and oil is of correct viscosity. With compression gauge installed, use remote starter switch to crank engine.
Crank engine at least 5 revolutions, and record highest reading. Repeat procedure for all cylinders, using approximately same number of revolutions. Lowest compression reading should not be less than 75 percent of highest compression reading. No cylinder compression reading should be less than 100 psi (7 kg/cm2 ).
