All of a sudden I put the key in and it will not come ourt of park when the vehicle is on or running. I can put the key to unlock position and put the van in neutral and start and drive, my barake lights don't work either.D is this all connected to a swith that disengages with the brakes or what?

Sounds like the brake light switch has gone bad. The switch controls the shift lock as well as the brake lights
