Having problem with not changing gears was told vehicle speed sensor speedometer on fritz will I have to drop trans/exhaust to get to vss or is the trans toast?Aaahhhhhh!

It is definity terrible to get at, but could very well be the problem. Did you have it scanned and that was the code? You may not have to drop the exhaust completely, but lowering down a little helps. When you get the VSS out, use a mirror to inspect the ring in the trans that drives it to be sure it is ok too
