I turn the key to start engine, it starts and then when I release the key the engine and starter do not release from the flex-plate ring gear I have lost three starters from this. And I do not know what else to do. It has everything from a new flex-plate to new batteries cables to new ignition systems and newly wrapped harnesses. I am stumped. Could use some advice. Start by using a test light to see if the red/light blue wire out of the ignition switch is staying hot (12 volts) when you let off thekey. If so the switch is hanging up. If not the starter relay may be causing it.I looked this up for a 2000 F150
