I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with a 3.0L eng. And a 5 speed manual trans. Sometimes it will rev up to 2500 to 3000 RPM when I push in the cluth pedal. I have installed IAC valve, new EGR valve and it only helped for a short time. Will I have to install a new PCM. Please help me

At times I have seen many vehicles do the same thing, sometimes there is a small buildup of carbon in the throttle body that makes it stick. Try cleaning out the air intake to the throttle body with throttle body cleaner.

Had a high idle on my wifes 2005 f150, used throttle body cleaner and cleared it up. Only had one tp sensor hang up and that was on a firebird. I am glad you got the problem fixed. Mike
