How do I repair my TCC solenoid Code P1740? Where do I find it? Is it inside the transmission or on the outside somewhere?

The TCC solenoid is located on the valve body inside the side cover on the transmission. This may be accessed without removing the transmission. You must first raise the car, and remove the left front wheel. You can then remove the bolts from the left support bracket and mount from the side of the transmission and remove the bracket and mount. You may then remove the side cover. You will see a group of three solenoids in a line. They are the shift solenoids. The large solenoid is the EPC solenoid. The smaller solenoid next to the EPC solenoid is the TCC solenoid. Before changing it, make sure that you have continuity in the harness from the processor to the transmission connector.

If you replace the solenoid (after making sure it it really bad), make sure that you use the correct replacement. There are three different solenoids that will fit, but only one is the correct one. The correct solenoid should have a blue connector.

Using the earlier one with the white connector or the even earlier one that is not a modulated solenoid will likely cause damage to the processor.

Good luck, and I hope this has been of some help.
