Are engine codes and parts numbers different in Canada than in the U.S. My car was made in Chicago and I live in Canada. There's a different numbered oil filter goes on than what's in the book at the lube place. My car died on the highway on a hot day last summer so I had the fuel pump and filter changed, and the numbers were different. The engine light had come on. They scanned the engine and it showed a problem with the secondary circuit in the fuel pump. So, I drive away and the engine light comes. I go back, shut it off, they scan the engine, they say it's reading same problem, reset it, I drive away and right away the engine light comes on. And it reads the same problem. The cars performance is what it should be.

There are differnet pumps for different engines, that is why you should use the 8th digit of the vin # when getting parts for your car. You may have a flex-fuel pump in a car that didnt come with that option or something to that effect. What was the exact code that was in the PCM?
