In cold weather I turn the heater on. At first it is warm, but then cools off.
When I shut the heater off for a bit and then turn it back on, it blows hot air for a while, but the cool air returns.
Last year I had a new water pumpt put in, a new thermostat and I had the system backed flushed.
What could be causing the problem?

thanks,
FT

Do you have the electronic temp controls? People have had success resetting the control head. Manual systems usually it's the blend door, or the heater core is still plugged with crap. When flushing must be sure that the core is really being flushed out good, the hose system sometimes allows the core to be mostly bypassed to the the routing of the hoses, some have success directly hooking up to the core.
