Last week I started noticing something that seems to be wrong with my transmission. I had just gotten off the highway and noticed in my neighborhood, if I pressed harder on the gas pedal, the RPMs would go up but I couldn't go much faster than 30 mph. I'm worried, but I don't think there's a problem with the transmission fluid, at least there is enough in there. How much would it cost to fix, if it's even something you can tell me from my explanation. Thanks, I appreciate it!

If the trans fluid is clean and full and the transmission is slipping, chances are the clutch plates are worn and need replaced. Basically, that means a soft parts overhaul. Average price is around 2000.00. However, I need to know if the check engine light has come on. It could indicate a sensor issue.

Let me know.

So far, no lights have come on. And I drove it today with no problems but I'm sure I'll need to get it looked at asap. I am scared now, but thanks for your help!
