A few days ago my battery light came on in my 2005 Ford Ranger. The next day driving to work, my radio started cutting out every 2 or 3 seconds. Then the ABS warning light came on, then the BRAKE warning light came on. I pulled over and shut the engine off. Then the truck wouldn't start, it would just make a tapping noise like the starter was bad. I was able to jump start it and drive to an auto parts store. I bought a new battery, since the one in the truck was 5 yrds old and every thing started working properly except the battery light was still on. After driving back and forth to work the next day, I got in the truck this morning and drove about 4 miles and the same thing started all over again. I am assuming I have a bad alternator but would like your opinion.
