when I first start the engine it takes a while to fire off each and every time I start it. Will run fine after it starts. Is there a cold start valve or somrthing on this truck?

It sounds like you are loosing the fuel pressure prime. Here is a how to for checking pressure. PAy special attention to the fuel pressure drop off when you shut the key. It should hold pressure. If it drops, there is a leak somewhere.

Let me know what you find.
