Got 2001 ford ranger wont start found crankshaft pulley bolt loose, there is no key on shaft and engine postion sensor gets input of pulley. The pully has hole in it has threaded hole in cover. So do you install hole in line with peg and then put engine at tds compression to time?

This is 2001 2.3 16 valve there isnt timing belt the cam is chain driven. The pully is loose on shaft until you tighten the bolt so it must be tmed. If you bolt pulley on it will go on all 360 degresss so how do you time crankshaft pulley to engine
