HELLO GUYS, hope you can help have a pinto engine and it runs great blows oil around dipstick and carb, not a lot I am concerned about this no smokeing good performance, thinking of changing oil breather housing on block, did hear it could be rings, should I do compression test, plugs are great, the engine is in a kit car and has only done 6k mile since being overhauled, would it show on compression test as it would be the oil srcapper rings also what should the compression test value be

Before you go to alot of trouble, check to make sure your pcv system is up to snuff. This includes the pcv valve, or a pluged hose going to the valve. Also the breather element that goes to the carb should be replaced. If it were just overhauled6k ago the rings probably haven't really sealed yet depending on what type were used. So don't even think about that. Compression values should be within 20% of each other, but if you have 125-150 accross then you are ok.
