Header Panel

My header panel is cracked and instead of paying to have it fixed, I want to replace it myself. I get to the point of having the inner fender panels and the front bumper cover off and there seems to be wires of some sort that snake through some parts. What are they from and where do they go to? If possible tell me how to get this panel off from where I left off.

You really are looking for a magician. What kind of car, mileage, year and more info about what the header panel is? Are you working on the exhaust?

My car is a 96 Taurus with 135000 miles on it. When I got the car the header panel (it holds the hood latch and the headlight assemblies and covers the top of the radiator) was cracked. The bumper cover hides some wires and to be able to get the panel off I have to figure out where the wires go because in two sections where they snake through from back to front. Sorry I forgot the car make and mileage. The exhaust is fine.

Is this body work your asking about or mechanical? I'm confused. I didn't know there was a such thing as a header panel mechanically wise.
