Sounds like a faulty ignition switch, so you can turn the key back and pull it out and it wont shut off?

I have replace the ignition switch, and the key will turn and you can take it and the car is tstill running, whats next to check?

Two fuses to look for one will be inside the car under the left dash fuse #7 seccon is in the battery junction box fuse #3 third mega fuse right side of battery junction box, doesnt show a fuse number but it will be a big one probably marked ignition or start

how old is the ignition switch

After the switch is off and the key is out, tell us about other electrical items in the car that are still on.
Does you radio work?
Does the instrument panel work?
Will the heater still work?
How are you shutting it off?
