Hi my name is jeff chapman and I own a 1980 ford mustang with a 2.3 non turbo and and 4 speed transmission and today after putting in a new stereo I went for a test drive in it and I know for a fact that there is a minor fuel line leak and I ran out of gas in it so I put some more in about 20 minutes later cuz I had to walk back to my house to get it and after I got back and put some gas in it I started it back up but it suddenly seemed to be running rough and I thought that it might just be that I ran out of gas and it needed to be pumped back into the system so I reved it up a bit and then I just suddenly started dying after the first time it did this I started it again and it started but wouldnt stay running. As soon as I would get it stared it would start dying again so I had to be pushed home after this I pulled off the fan shroud and immediatly checked to see if the engine was seized up but it still turns over but when I turn it over with the key I cannot get it started because I think the bendix gear in the started is now shot but I dont think that would even be close to why it wont stay running. Any ideas I think it might be overhaul or that my fuel pump is bad but im not sure I know for a fact that I will need a started

I suggest you check the fuel pump and fuel filter-
