Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 17000 miles

i have a 99 ford mustang and sometimes the service engine light comes on and stays on cpl of days then it goes off. When the service light comes on seems light my mustang to me it seems like it dont pick up speed like it does when the light isnt on. Ice had it checked with that comp device and the local auto store and it said a censor anyway I changed it from under the hood and the service light still comes on. Any ideas why it still comes on or why it seems not to run right when its on. Thank you

Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.
