1995 Ford Mustang check engine light on after getting gas

We just bought this car yesterday and our mechanic said all was great

today my daughter put gas in and the check engine light came on? Why?

we checked the gas cap
we checked the radiator fluid

is it time for a tune up?

First thing that should be done is vehicles computer needs a scanning that will tell us what code is being stored, and from there we can determine what is the quickest and most cost effective way to go.
