2002 Ford Mondeo Glow plug light

2002 Ford Mondeo Manual 143000 miles

The glow plug is always on and flashes constantly, White smoke is coming from the exhast and the car cuts out/loses power after 5 mins of driving. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem. Thanks.

Hi there,

you will have to get a few things check here,

check for voltage at the glow plug rail, there should be no power after start up and about 1 min running, check compressions, white smoke in a diesel is often associated with incomplete combustion mainly due to lack of compression, check these first.
