1993 Ford LTD Car cuts out when put in gear

I have a Ford Fairlane NC Ghia Auto and idles fine in neutral however when put in gear wants to cut out or stutters unless accelerator is pressed.

Only happens intermittently.

Have installed new spark plugs, fuel pump recently replaced.

Try to clean throttle body and idle air control valve
check for any vacuum leaks
I would suspect idle air control valve

Hi,

I unbolted the ICS and gave it a good clean, was not too bad but carbon everywhere and stuck a nylon bottle brush down the holes to the throttle body with some detergent and then dried the whole thing with a rag and re-installed it all, also gave the idle screw a tweak to bring the revs up a little to the manual recommended of 650 675rpm in Neutral.

Gave it a test drive and no stuttering at all for the moment in gear and seems to be humming along.
