Try this, record all codes that come up and post please. Sometimes just running this test will recalibrate the gauges and solve the problem.

Pinpoint Test E: The Speedometer/Odometer Is Inoperative Normal Operation The powertrain control module (PCM) provides the vehicle speed to the instrument cluster over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network. The instrument cluster uses the vehicle speed rolling count status from the PCM to calculate and display the current odometer reading. If the instrument cluster does not receive odometer rolling count status for 2 seconds, dashes are displayed in the odometer display and the anti -lock brake system (ABS) warning lamp illuminates. Possible Causes à PCM à instrument cluster.
To determine which is bad the use of the Ford Star tester is required. Can also be a poor connection.B9 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION à Disconnect the instrument cluster connector. à Check for: à corrosion à pushed-out pins à Connect the instrument cluster connector and make sure it seats correctly. à Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. à Is the concern still present? à Yes : INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. TEST the system for normal operation. à No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self -test.
