My check engine light came on so I borrowed a friends code reader to help me find out what the problem was. Ufortanatly the answer it gave me I don't understand. It told me the Catalyst Efficiency is Below Threshold. What the F*** does that mean?

It can be a few things but it probably means your catalytic convertor is bad. I would clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does you may want to call a Ford dealer. They have to warranty the emissions system for 70,000 miles I believe.

Converter is 8yr/80,000 miles OEM warranty. Other emissions warranties vary depending on part.

I cleared the code (which was P0420) but when I did that it didn't come back. Instead it showed a yellow light stating there was still a problem but now it didn't know what the problem was.

Also, you mentioned warranty which I will call the dealer about but my car already has 78,000 miles on it. How much would it be around to fix a converter problem for my car?
