I have a 1997 E-350, V-10 thats starts fine and idles fine when it is cold, i.E. Is idleing at fast idle. As soon as the engine warms up it barely idles and bucks like crazy. It otherwise runs fine. The check engine light is on and I read 2 codes - P0171 and P0174 engine lean bank 1 and bank 2.

These two codes indicate that you could have one of several problems. Check your engine vacuum with a vacuum gage to see that you are getting a reading of around 17-21 inches of vacuum, if not then you have a vacuum leak and will need to hunt down the cause of the leak like damaged hoses, faulty EGR valve. If you have good vacuum then check your mass air sensor to see if it is dirty, a common problem with K&N filters after it had been cleaned and reoiled with too much oil, if so clean it with electronic parts spray that is available from any parts store. Hope the info helps.

Good Luck.
